ARC (Advanced Restorative Cybernetic Systems) technology are designed with the purpose of integrating humans and cybernetics. The first generation of ARC tech was developed by the United Alliance to restore Human capabilities to those especially with disabilities. ARC 2.0 standardized specific non-evasive "enhancements" to people without disabilities and grew to mainstream appeal. The ARC 3.0 the fusion or replacement of parts of the human limb system with full cybernetics after it was used to save the life of Jacob Mercer. Soon after, The United Alliance then copied the technology and created ARC 3.5 for use in their military. Development on the second generation of the ARC technology called "ARC Mark Two" (ARC-II) was developed by The Network, and overseen by Agent X208. The ARC-II is an overhaul and re-invention of the ARC technology.

ARC (Mark I) 3.0

One of the first successful trials of the "ARC One Version 3" was while it was used to save the life of Jacob Mercer whom after a ferry boat exploded with him and his fiancé on-board, lost his left-arm and suffered permanent brain tissue damage, leaving him in a half-paralyzed state. The development of ARC was head by Agent X108, and the ARC technology not only save Jacob's life but enhanced his physical and mental abilities.

Cybernetic Warfare

While cybernetics to enhance soldiers were not a new invention and even before ARC was developed cybernetics were being used on soldiers, ARC(I) 3.5 was the first time soldiers were given enhancements and features far surpassing human physiology. Concepts that were only thought as “Fantasy” back then suddenly become possible. The weaponized ARC(I) 3.5 led to the creation of distinct types of soldiers with specific cybernetics that gave then unique roles. These Soldiers were given one of the following titles: Enforcers, Cyber Technician, Infiltrator, and Conjurers One type of solider; Conjurers are aptly named for their ability to channel electricity, ice and fire.

Developed by the Network after the ARC 3.5, the Mark-II re-conceptualized the ARC system's purpose to be defense and disarmament focused. The ARC-II was designed more like platted armor shielding and only required limited non-invasive cybernetics to control and operate. It became standard for Network Agents in the field to be outfitted with the ARC-II.

Key features of the ARC Mark-II

  • Stealth Cloaking System
  • Communication Jamming System
  • Weapon Neutralizer
  • Variable Augmented Module - Allows User to adjust Strength and Speed Accordingly
  • 360 Degree Kinetic Barriers - Superior Kinetic Shields
  • Integrated Autonomous Rehabilitation Care System - Life Preserving System.

Specific Improvements to the ARC-II An upgraded version of the ARC-II allow an Artificial Intelligence (developed by Dr. Hans Mikaels) to be linked with the ARC-II redesigned as tough armored skin. The AI uses secure wireless cybernetic signals which regulates the suit coordinates with human user, and therefore no longer requires the user to be implanted with any additional cybernetics. Another key feature is that the armor is genetically encoded meaning that the armor is only usable by a matching DNA and brain wave.

Prototype ARC-III

The ARC-III prototype is a cybernetic full body armored suit with the ability to adapt, self-modify and evolve. The suits are designed with Artificial Intelligence and have limited control of the suit on their own. However the suit cannot perform at capacity without a someone wearing it. The suit is also genetically encoded therefore, only an user chosen by the suit is able to wear it. The suit also possess the ability to judge the intentions and or actions of that person wearing the suit, and determine whether action is justified is not. The suit may refuse to activate its full potential if it deem the wearer's actions unjustifiable.

This brand new system did not get fully developed until much later by Dr. Erika Faith. Based on an incomplete new prototype of the ARC-III (ARC Mark III).

The RIDE System fulfills an incomplete aspect of the ARC-III prototype, its self-regulating energy system which allows the suit to enter a state of "over-drive". In the original ARC-III, the "ARC Drive System" was unstable and incomplete. Erika Faith created the "Vulcan Drive" she said was the missing component to the ARC-III. Vulcan Drive enabled the suit to go into a HYPER-mode channeling the unstable kinetic energy and giving the suit an extraordinary amount of power.
